Self-Adhesive Foam
Self-adhesive foam provides fast and clean installation without the need for separate glue, thanks to the adhesive layer on one face. In sealing, vibration isolation and surface protection applications it saves time — simply peel the protective film and press it into place. It is a practical taping solution that seats neatly along the edges of covers, panels and enclosures.
Key Properties
- Single-sided adhesive layer
- Glue-free fast installation
- Peel-off protective film
- Sealing and insulation
- Cover and panel edges
- Clean and practical application
Overview
Self-adhesive foam is polyurethane foam with an adhesive layer on one face. Peel the liner, press it to the surface and it's mounted — no separate adhesive, no cure time, no squeeze-out to clean.
Typical use
Lid and enclosure gaskets, vibration damping pads, noise-reducing linings and machine panel insulation are the commonest applications. Because it stays where it's placed, it shortens labour time on an assembly line.
Adhesive and surface
A general-purpose acrylic adhesive suits most clean, flat surfaces. Rough surfaces, low-surface-energy plastics and heat-exposed locations use stronger formulations. Tell us the surface and it's produced with the right tape.
Choosing thickness
Thin strips suit gaskets and sealing; thicker pads suit vibration and noise damping. Where gap-filling is the job, allow for how much thickness the foam loses under compression.
Applications
- Lid and enclosure gaskets
- Vibration damping pads
- Machine panel insulation
- Noise-reducing linings
- Electrical cabinet sealing
- Automotive interior trim
- Appliance body joints
- Gap filling and packing

Frequently Asked Questions
- What surfaces does it hold on?
- Metal, painted surfaces, rigid plastic and timber, provided they're clean and dry. Dust, oil and moisture all weaken the bond, so clean the surface first.
- Do you slit to strip?
- Yes. It's slit to the width and length you specify, arriving ready-sized for gasket work.
- How much does it compress?
- Compression depends on foam density and the pressure applied. Send your gap dimension and we'll recommend a thickness allowing for it.
