Overview
Flocked jewellery foam is polyurethane foam coated with short velvet-look fibres. Its soft texture and matt velvet finish make it both protection and display for jewellery, watches and small valuables.
Why flocked
Bare foam looks porous and matt — cheap beneath a valuable product. Flocking turns that surface to velvet, and perceived quality rises noticeably the moment the box is opened. The fibre layer also protects metal and stone surfaces from scratching.
Slots and cavities
There are two basic forms: slit foams for rings and earrings, and die-cut pieces with cavities for necklaces and bracelets. Slit width follows the thickness of the piece — too wide and it slips, too narrow and it's hard to seat.
Colour and box match
Choosing the flock colour to match the box lining gives a coherent presentation. Black, navy, burgundy, cream and grey are the most used; corporate colours are assessed by quantity.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does the flock shed?
- Correctly applied flock doesn't shed in normal use. For high-traffic applications subject to rubbing, a velvet-fabric-lined alternative is more durable.
- Can it be made to my box size?
- Yes. Send the internal box dimension and the item type (ring, necklace, watch); slot width and cavity depth follow your product.
- Is flock available in our corporate colour?
- Beyond the standard colours, custom production is assessed by quantity. Send a colour reference and estimated volume.
