Filter foam is an open-cell material that traps particles while air or liquid passes through it. What separates it from protective foam is that the cell structure is measurable rather than incidental: finer cells capture finer particles, but pressure drop rises with them. The right filter is not the finest one — it is the one that matches the fan capacity of the system.
Choosing cell density
Pre-filters use a coarse cell: the job is to catch the large particles, protect the fine filter behind them and not choke the airflow. Paint booths and final stages need a finer cell. Send the fan pressure and the size of your current filter and we will specify the cell density — a piece of the filter you use now works just as well as a specification.
Size, frame and cassette
Filter foam is usually calculated from the internal dimension of the cassette or frame, not from a stock sheet. Cut oversize, it distorts into the frame and leaks around the edge; cut undersize, it leaves a gap and passes unfiltered air straight through. So the dimension we work to is the frame's internal size, never its external one.
Repeat orders
Filters are consumables, so the same size repeats on a schedule. Once size and cell density are settled on the first order the specification stays fixed — after that, all you need to send is the quantity.

Frequently Asked Questions
- I don't know my filter's size — what should I send?
- A piece of the filter you use now, or a photograph of it, is enough. We can work out the frame's internal dimension and the cell structure from that.
- Isn't the finest filter always better?
- No. Finer cells increase pressure drop, and a filter beyond the fan's capacity reduces airflow and strains the system. The right choice is the cell density that matches the system's pressure.
- Do you supply aquarium filter sponge?
- Our work is industrial filtration — ventilation, dust capture, paint booths and machine filters. We do not sell retail aquarium filters, though we can look at bulk cut-to-size requirements.
- Can you cut material I supply?
- Yes. We do subcontract cutting — send your own sheet and, once size and tolerance are agreed, it is cut and returned.
