Overview
EVA sheet is a closed-cell foam plate based on ethylene-vinyl acetate. Because it doesn't absorb water and combines flexibility with impact absorption, it's used across a wide range — from protective packaging to sports flooring, vehicle insulation to shoe soles.
What closed-cell means
EVA's cells are sealed from one another. That means the material doesn't draw in water or moisture, resists chemicals, and returns to shape after compression. Unlike open-cell sponge it retains no moisture, so it's safe for sea freight and humid warehousing.
Density ranges and use
Low-density EVA is soft and cushions light products. Medium density is the range most used in protective packaging: it cuts well and gives enough firmness. High-density EVA is chosen for heavy parts, base materials and anywhere structural support is needed.
Workability
EVA sheet can be cut, drilled, laminated and heat-formed. A self-adhesive version bonds straight to the surface. Die-cutting produces cavities that match the product exactly, and different thicknesses laminate together for blocks over 100 mm.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does EVA sheet absorb water?
- No. Its closed-cell structure means EVA neither absorbs water nor is affected by humidity — a clear advantage over open-cell sponge for sea freight and damp environments.
- What's the difference between EVA and XPE sheet?
- Both are closed-cell. EVA is more flexible with higher impact absorption; XPE is lighter, finer-celled and slightly more chemical-resistant. XPE leads where shipping weight is critical, EVA where impact protection comes first.
- Can you produce a specific thickness?
- Beyond the standard thicknesses, sheets can be laminated into thicker blocks. Just tell us the thickness and dimensions you need.
