XPE Separator

Die-cut XPE is the form precision-machined with CNC and blade dies to match product geometry exactly. It is ideal for professional interior layouts in automotive, electronics, defence and medical device cases, where each part seats in its own cavity. Its repeatable tolerance accuracy delivers consistent protection and a clean presentation across serial production.

Product family: XPE

Key Properties

  • Precise CNC / blade cutting
  • Product-specific cavity design
  • Repeatable tolerances
  • Organized in-case placement
  • Suited to serial production
  • Waste-reducing nesting

Overview

An XPE separator is a dividing and cavitied layer cut from cross-linked polyethylene foam. XPE's fine, even cell structure gives a clean, dust-free cut edge and a smooth surface to the touch — which shows wherever the separator is visible.

The weight advantage

XPE generally delivers the same protection at lower weight. In multi-layer separator arrangements that difference accumulates per carton and reaches the freight bill directly on air and export shipments.

Moisture and chemical resistance

The closed-cell structure blocks water and moisture, and cross-linking adds better chemical and temperature resistance than standard PE foam. It's safe for long-term storage and sea freight.

Production

Cavities are cut to the product by die, CNC or waterjet. Laminating different thicknesses builds deep-cavity, multi-layer layouts; production follows sample approval.

Antistatic option

With static-sensitive electronic components, a standard foam surface can accumulate charge. Antistatic-additive XPE separators remove that risk; on ESD-controlled lines the bags, tape and labels used alongside them need to be compatible too.

Planning multi-layer stacks

Where several layers travel in one carton, the lower layer has to carry the weight above it. In practice that means thicker or denser material lower down and thinner material on top. Layer count, total height and carton strength are calculated together.

Its fine, even cell structure suits XPE to packaging separator work where visible surfaces are being divided: the cut edge does not shed, so it is safe against parts that must stay clean.

  • Optical and measuring instrument cavities
  • Air freight and export shipments
  • Multi-layer stacking layouts
  • Automotive part dividers
  • Presentation and display box interiors

Frequently Asked Questions

XPE or EVA separator?
XPE where weight and appearance are critical — it's lighter with a cleaner cut edge. EVA where impact absorption leads. Heavy parts favour EVA; light, delicate products favour XPE.
Is it suitable for sea freight?
Yes. Its closed-cell structure takes up no moisture or water, a clear advantage over open-cell sponge against container condensation.
Can deep cavities be cut?
Yes. Laminating thicknesses produces thick blocks for deep-cavity, multi-layer layouts.
