Shaped PE and XPE foam cutting
Shaped PE foam cutting recesses a PE or XPE sheet to the product, or brings it into a profile form. XPE is cross-linked, so shaped XPE cutting leaves a dust-free edge and a smooth surface — decisive where the insert is visible. In standard PE foam, shaped cutting is mostly used for interleaves, edge profiles and light cushioning, and costs noticeably less.
PE foam cutting adapts polyethylene and XPE material to the product as sheet, separator, profile or bag. These are closed-cell materials: they take up no water or moisture, they are light, and they cost less than EVA. Most work that needs surface protection and orderly stacking rather than high impact absorption is solved with this group.
PE versus XPE
Both are closed-cell, but XPE is cross-linked: smaller, more regular cells, so it cuts a clean, dust-free edge and its surface is smoother. XPE leads where the material is visible and presentation matters. Standard PE foam is cheaper and preferred for interleaves that are never seen.
Edge and corner protection
Most transit damage concentrates at edges and corners, where impact focuses on a small area. Protecting only those points with U-profiles, L-profiles and corner blocks — rather than covering the whole surface — noticeably lowers both material cost and packing time.

- Should I choose PE foam or EVA cutting?
- EVA if the product is heavy or fragile and needs high impact absorption. PE foam is markedly cheaper where surface protection, scratch prevention and orderly stacking are enough. Where shipping weight is critical, XPE strikes a good balance between the two.
- How is profile size decided?
- Section follows the thickness of the part: too loose and the profile slides off, too tight and it won't fit. Send your product thickness and we'll recommend a section — custom profiles are possible beyond the standard sizes.
- Can it be supplied on the roll?
- Yes. Roll is practical for wrapping and surface protection, slit to the width you specify. Work needing in-box layouts uses sheet and die-cutting instead.
