Key Properties

  • Product-specific interior design
  • EVA and XPE foam options
  • Impact and vibration protection
  • Safe transport for sensitive equipment
  • Professional, long-lasting use

Overview

Plastic carry cases are light, economical containers made from impact-resistant polypropylene or similar technical plastics — cheaper than aluminium, far lighter than a wooden crate.

Moisture and chemical resistance

A plastic body doesn't absorb water, corrode or react to most chemicals. That's an advantage in humid conditions, outdoors, and anywhere the case has to be cleaned — the body wipes down.

The interior

As with aluminium cases, protection comes largely from the interior. Die-cut EVA/XPE cavities hold the equipment. Alternatively, pick-and-pluck foam lets the user form their own cavities.

Sealed versions

Models with a gasket around the lid keep out dust and water, and are preferred for equipment working in field conditions. Versions with a pressure-equalising valve make the lid easier to open after altitude or temperature change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plastic case or aluminium case?
Plastic if budget and light weight lead; aluminium for maximum durability, presentation and heavy equipment. In humid or chemical environments the plastic body has the advantage.
What is pick-and-pluck foam?
A foam block pre-cut into small squares that pull out individually, letting the user form cavities to their own equipment — a flexible option that needs no die-cutting.
Is a waterproof version available?
Models with a gasket around the lid keep out dust and water, and are recommended for equipment used in the field.
